Rent vs buy in North Yelm -what makes sense?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 54-year-old project manager and Crime rate is something to consider -North Yelm sits at 370.1 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,379 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective.

I work in engineering here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is underrated. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
