Remote worker thinking about Northbrook

Hey, I've been here for 11 years and Homes are going for about $644,100 on average. Rent is about $2,334/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $644,100, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $2,334 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Definitely worth checking out..
