Job market in Northdale for tech?

Random thought, You can expect to pay around $1,687 for rent here. Rent is about $1,687/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 39, moved here 9 years ago from Miami. I've lived in East and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The food scene situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for young professionals. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $50K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is solid in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
