Longtime lurker here, The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Northeast Ithaca? The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
