Hello, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,036 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Is this normal for Northfield? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in East area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.
