Just moved to Northlake, any tips?

Hey folks, Been living here since 2006. Rent is about $1,164/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Northlake sits at 163.6 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. What would you do? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
