Hey folks, Median household income is $119,803, which feels pretty solid for the area.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much competitive but now it's tough.

I work in healthcare here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is improving. Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Maple Ridge area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in South for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The housing market scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into running, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much established but now it's decent.
