Hey folks, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $77,781 in Northport. The median home value here is around $258,800, which seems about average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like sushi.
