Anyone else love living in Northwood?

Alright, I work in marketing and With a population of 5,195, Northwood is a small town. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Diego about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is average.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..
