Should I move to Norwalk or stay in Indianapolis?

Hello, I'm retired and Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

I'm a chef and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in education. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

No regrets on my end..
