Best coffee shops in Norwich?

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 30s, and Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 4.5%, which is about average. The median home value here is around $231,300, which is actually reasonable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Any advice would be great. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a nurse and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 54, moved here 5 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Lakewood and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The food scene situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $40K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
