Hey everyone, My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $842 for rent here. Household incomes average around $51,713 in Norwich. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Riverside area are average. Kids love it here.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Maple Ridge area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much reasonable but now it's average.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The walkability scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..
