First post here. Median household income is $97,110, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $97,110 in Norwood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cheers. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a lawyer, 37, moved here 8 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Sunset and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The job market situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for retirees. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 8 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been here 12 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Came here for school and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The cost of living is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
