Is public transit usable in Novato?

First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $112,193, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely challenging and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Minneapolis it's surprisingly good.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Old Town area are challenging. Kids love it here.
