Living in Novi -the reality

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 66,224 people. Poverty rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

I work in government here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Good luck with whatever you decide..
