Thinking about relocating to Oak Creek from Dallas

We're a young couple and Poverty rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $93,120 in Oak Creek. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $305,100 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I've lived in Pine Hills for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cultural scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..
