How are the schools in Oak Grove?

Crime rate is something to consider -Oak Grove sits at 248.0 per 100K. Median household income is $81,611, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $485,200 on average. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Springfield area are tough. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely excellent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Springfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Came here for school and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The safety is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
