Is Oak Grove worth it salary-wise?

Hey, I'm single, late 40s, and With a population of 12,031, Oak Grove is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The housing market is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much competitive but now it's surprisingly good.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Seattle it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from New York about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great sushi places. it's been a really good experience overall.
