Anyone work in healthcare in Oak Hills?

Random thought, I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 4.1%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 11,464 people. The median home value here is around $632,600, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Miami about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely excellent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
