Cost of living reality check -Oak Park

Hey everyone, With a population of 53,315, Oak Park is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $108,026 in Oak Park. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..
