Moving to Oak Park for work -advice?
Curious what people think. Crime rate is something to consider -Oak Park sits at 298.2 per 100K.

I've lived in Old Town for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The nightlife scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
