Worst things about Oak Park nobody talks about

Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 6.7%, which is concerning. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The safety scene is solid

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.
