I'm retired and Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 1.0%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $109,528, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $368,000, which seems about average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I work in retail here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is underrated. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
