Moving to Oak Point for work -advice?

Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 1.0%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Does this match your experience?

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The public transit is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Italian.

No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
