Weekend activities in Oak View?

So, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $709,300 on average. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Oak View sits at 131.5 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 5,984 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
