Relocating to Oakdale, NY -pros and cons?

Alright, Household incomes average around $129,809 in Oakdale. You can expect to pay around $2,336 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Oakdale sits at 22.0 per 100K. With a population of 7,171, Oakdale is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Has anyone dealt with this? Cheers. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Seattle about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is decent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
