First post here. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Came here for weather and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The nightlife is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Sunset for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- The weather scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
