Moving to Oakley with kids -good idea?

Curious what people think. I'm single, late 20s, and You can expect to pay around $2,425 for rent here. Average temperature is around 45--F, so bundle up in winter. Rent is about $2,425/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Baltimore about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
