Hello, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Oakville sits at 490.9 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
