Unpopular opinion about Oakville

Hi all, It's a a smaller city city with about 35,166 people. With a population of 35,166, Oakville is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Oakville sits at 490.9 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What are your go-to spots? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Bought a house here in 2018 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in Sunset for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- The healthcare scene is solid

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
