I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 18.0%, which is higher than I expected. Crime rate is something to consider -Oblong sits at 584.8 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Came here for family and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The job market is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Lakewood area are underrated. Kids love it here.
