Ocala is underrated, change my mind

Hi all, The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'm a software engineer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

Came here for weather and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The food scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
