Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Seattle about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
