Rent vs buy in Ocean Acres -what makes sense?

Hello, I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Riverside for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The public transit scene is decent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..
