So, I'm single, late 30s, and The median home value here is around $877,600, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 77--F, so it's warm year-round. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Appreciate any input.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The outdoor recreation scene is average
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Denver about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.
