Anyone else love living in Oceanside?

Alright, I work in food service and It's a a mid-size city city with about 173K people. Average temperature is around 60°F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 11 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The healthcare is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in retail. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
