Moving to Oceanside — what should I know?

I'm a college student here and Median household income is $93,724, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 60°F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a mid-size city city with about 173K people. Household incomes average around $93,724 in Oceanside. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I work in engineering here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is average. Hope this helps!.

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 9 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
