Pros and cons of Oceanside after 10 years

Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $626,700, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $145,282, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What do you all think? Thanks for reading. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..
