Hey everyone, I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $35,255 in Ocklawaha. Average temperature is around 69--F, so the weather is moderate. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Let me know your thoughts.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely excellent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Westside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Downtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Houston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
