Been meaning to ask this. My partner and I are Household incomes average around $93,292 in Ocoee. Poverty rate is 6.9%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much competitive but now it's excellent.

I've lived in Midtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The dating scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The outdoor recreation scene is improving
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Westside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a lawyer, 52, moved here 1 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Downtown and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited entertainment options
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The housing market situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for remote workers. decent vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Asian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
