Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $367,700 on average. Median household income is $105,833, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've lived in Riverside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The outdoor recreation scene is tough
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much reasonable but now it's challenging.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The safety scene is solid
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Highland) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
