What's it really like living in Oconomowoc?

Hi all, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. With a population of 18,385, Oconomowoc is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely decent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (West) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Midtown area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
