I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- The school system scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 15 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 1 years. Moved from San Francisco for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is tough - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Not very walkable outside downtown. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 1 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Raleigh it's improving.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The housing market is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
