Best hidden gems in Odessa

Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 11.6%, which is around average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..
