Anyone else feel this way? Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $1,322 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Should I be concerned? Thanks for reading. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community vibe is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Moved here from Raleigh about 7 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I work in hospitality here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is improving. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a project manager, 37, moved here 15 years ago from Boston. I've lived in The Heights and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The pet-friendliness situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for families. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
