What I wish I knew before living in Odessa

First post here. The median home value here is around $208,000, which is actually reasonable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Odessa? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Baltimore it's pretty good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.
