Hi all, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective. Appreciate any input.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.
