Moving to O'Fallon -what should I know?

I'm single, late 20s, and Household incomes average around $102,793 in O'Fallon. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance!

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

it depends on the neighborhood

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Uptown area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in engineering. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
