Freelancing from Ogden -experience?

Median household income is $70,053, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $311,300, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Ogden sits at 437.0 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Highland for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
- The weather scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 15 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been here 4 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
