Weekend activities in Ogdensburg?

Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $82,100 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thoughts? It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 11 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The job market scene is average

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The cultural scene is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 3 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 9 years. Moved from Boston for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Not very walkable outside downtown. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 3 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Sunset area are challenging. Kids love it here.
